Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals

Help patients regain or improve skills for daily living and work activities

Use therapeutic exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques

Train patients in using assistive devices and adaptive equipment

Modify home, school, or workplace environments to improve independence

Work with patients recovering from injury, illness, disability, or aging-related conditions

Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques and home programs

Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals

Support patients’ mental and emotional well-being during rehabilitation

Follow ethical, safety, and professional standards of practice

Participate in case meetings, training, and continuing education

Advocate for patient independence and quality of life

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution

Valid license/registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist

Completion of required clinical internships or fieldwork

Knowledge of assessment tools and therapeutic techniques

Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans

Strong understanding of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Patience, empathy, and a client-centered approach

Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

Ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports

Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records

Awareness of safety, ethical, and professional standards

Physical stamina to assist and support patients during therapy

Willingness to engage in continuing professional development
