About the role
Reporting to the Director of Research, Professor David Dexter, the Managing Director will strategically lead the Virtual Biotech, providing the vision necessary to take the Parkinson’s Virtual Biotech (VB) to its next stage of development
Through effective leadership, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a portfolio of investments in biotech and academic preclinical and clinical trials, negotiating the terms of the investments, and managing the assets to maximise their impact.
As a visible leader and champion of the Virtual Biotech you will ensure the brand is recognised and respected with a diverse range of stakeholders and represented on a global platform.
What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will share the vision and drive to take the Virtual Biotech to its next stage of development. It requires a collaborative and innovative leader with extensive experience in or with venture fund biotech investments and investment portfolio management and a knowledge of drug development and regulatory frameworks across the UK and Europe, ideally in neurodegenerative disorders.
To effectively build and develop relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, will require excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills. These skills will be essential in bringing together industry experts from the science and business communities to discuss a common agenda and developing successful relationships with philanthropic funders or private capital investment to maximise potential investment streams.
Experience of IP management and contract negotiation is key to supporting the growing portfolio of projects and future success.
