Job Title- Engineering Manager

Working along with CFT and With in PM area on Projects

Expected travel activity:

20 % time in a year

The

Engineering Management

specialisation is responsible for leading and coordinating the design work in the project and implementing operational plan for project completion. Activities include ensuring interface and cross-disciplinary coordination, identifying relevant standards and processes, scope control and change management, and ensuring the right competences are available to the project.

Main Tasks

  • Plan and take responsibility for design and follow process from design to handover. Responsible for interfaces and coordination between disciplines and for handling changes to scope of work. Responsible for consistency of work, cross-disciplinary quality/reviews and compliance with codes and regulations. Responsible for common picture of design between customer and NNE throughout project. Part of project management team
  • Lead engineering team and perform on-the–job training of engineers to develop their potential
  • Proactively challenge and inspire customers and look for sales opportunities


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing small and midsized project and/or single & cross-disciplinary project work packages in projects
  • Defines the operational framework in cooperation with nearest PM or PPM.
  • Responsible for planning/execution and for coordinating/delegating tasks
  • Expected to monitor project performance and identify and address project risks and issues proactively and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Understands the project life cycle & use our Smarter execution platform.
  • Interacts with customer’s staff and management, as well as external contractors.
  • Leads people directly or through one level of people and ensures a work environment with clear direction, division of tasks and responsibilities at all levels.


Education

  • BE/BTech in Engineering or similar
  • Added advantage for the role if PMP certified etc.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written


Experience

  • Understanding Project Schedule
  • 10 years of experience. Min. 5 - 6 years as team on pharma/biotech projects or more would be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of all project execution phases like Conceptual /Basic /Detail Design Phases.
  • Understanding Process Equipment Interfaces with Centralized Services
  • Having Experiences around know how on Clean Utility and Black utility and their interfaces
  • Risk assessment in Engineering Systems and Tools Like PMD /PFD know-how is must have


Proficiency

  • Masters and stays updated on project management tools and working methods
  • Requires skill set in stakeholder management towards senior management level
  • Proven communication & leadership skills

  • Ability to maintain overview when challenged
  • Result-oriented and focused on resolving problems to the benefit of all stakeholders
  • Good communicator, coordinator and negotiator

Success criteria

  • Execution of major projects that meet customer expectations and Project success criteria as defined by PM and stakeholders on Projects
  • Ensure relevant Project Engineering and that project is executed efficiently
  • Ensure that opportunities to develop people and methods are integrated in project in dialogue with line managers
  • Customer & employee satisfaction score on or above target
  • Align with customers and running workshops based
  • Building understanding on NNE Practices and other relevant systems

  • Able to execute independently on planning, coordination and prioritizing to meet
  • Responsible for project-related decisions within framework approved by PM and stakeholders
  • Responsible for change orders within financial framework in QMS or agreed with project steering committee

  • Take initiative and drive solutions to problems arising in projects
  • Drive innovation in project management working methods
  • Participate in and contribute to relevant Communities on knowledge sharing


Communication & stakeholders

Internal

: Communication and coordination with Project management team or management representative, project staff and major stakeholders of project

External

: Communication and coordination with customer’s staff and management, suppliers, contractors and authorities
