The Diagnostic and Genomics Group (DGG) at Agilent is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and people-oriented individual to join our successful and dynamic Americas Field Operations (AFO) team as a Genomics Account Manager focusing on Research, Academic, Biotech and Pharma/Biopharma accounts.
The role is open to candidates in NY, CT and New England area.
Responsibilities:
- Driving sales of high-performance Genomics end-to-end workflows, comprised of consumables, capital equipment, automation, services and software for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), CRISPR Gene Editing and Array CGH.
- Developing and executing a strategic territory business plan that will enable Agilent to gain market share and achieve sales goals in the Territory.
- Managing a funnel of leads and opportunities in CRM and providing an accurate monthly sales forecast and territory narrative.
- Prospecting to find and close new opportunities in existing and new accounts.
- Conducting product presentations and instrument usage demos with and without Field Applications Scientist (FAS) assistance.
- Interpreting customer needs and working to meet those needs; identifying potential business opportunities, ability to handle complex leads independently.
- Working on defined sales assignments with broadly defined objectives.
- Providing constructive feedback from customers to Agilent to help guide continual product development that more effectively address customers' needs.
- Solving non-routine issues, challenges and problems within field of specialization.
- Developing and maintaining strategic customer relationships.
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in a Life Science discipline.
- 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or sales experience with Genomics applications, especially NGS. Gene editing or CRISPR knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated selling ability of Genomics reagent portfolios and capital equipment into Pharma, Academia and Biotechs and achieving quota.
- Industry/Application expertise with a working knowledge of competitive products (specifications, applications, value propositions).
- Experience in large, high profile account management including development, negotiation and execution of pricing agreements.
- Highly motivated, with excellent self-management, organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience working with customer purchasing teams to manage effective contract negotiations preferred.
- Ability to interface at all levels within an organization for both internal/external customers.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to collaborate and work within a team selling environment to achieve territory sales goals.
- Strong business development and sales closing skills.
- Must be able to travel up to 40% of the time.
