The Director Clinical Data Management Programming supervises a management team within the department ensuring delivery across all project requirements. The role involves leading and implementing strategies to ensure overall department success.

What You'll Do:
• Manage staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approve courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations. Review and approve time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime.
• Provide department leadership guiding overall operations and management of resources to allow for growth of group and individuals.
• Provide consultation and act as senior reviewer on multiple projects, manage project team resources, budget, finance, timelines and ensure SOP compliance with appropriate documentation.
• Serve in the a project oversight role management role of Project Oversight for studies to represent the study(s) to all functions as needed, with client, and fully accountable for all aspects of the management of risk. Review and/or approve documents related to project activities.
• Participate in long-range strategic planning, development of departmental business plan, and departmental budget.
• Communicate company and department policies and priorities to department staff and assuring compliance.
• Ensure appropriate personnel resources are applied to department projects based on priorities and relative complexity.
• Develop and present proposals in response to requests from potential customers and support business development activities presenting data management strategy at bid defense meetings.
• Ensure adherence to Company and Department policies and procedures and effectively manage quality and training compliance.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 12+ years) and 5+ years of management responsibility
• Strong leadership skills Proven leadership skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and cross functionally with a positive attitude, enthusiasm toward work, and the ability to mentor and coach others
• Capable of delegating tasks and facilitating the completion of assignments
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and to manage multiple assignments with challenging/conflicting deadlines; capable of negotiating schedule changes in response to project demands
• Technical understanding of data management applications and systems
• Excellent judgment, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work on extremely complex problems where analysis requires evaluating various factors
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
• Understanding of financial reporting process for projects and department
• Proven ability to drive innovation in developing new ideas related to process improvements
• Capable of independently assessing client needs and working with project team members in producing compliant deliverables.

Working Conditions and Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.
