The role revolves around enabling the robot to perceive and understand its environment accurately and reliably, thereby enabling it to navigate autonomously and interact effectively with its surroundings.
Role Expectations
- Design and implement perception systems for autonomous robots, including computer vision algorithms, machine learning models, and sensor fusion techniques
- Develop software for real-time processing of sensor data, including cameras, LIDAR, and other sensors
- Collaborate with other engineers to integrate perception systems into larger robotic systems
- Conduct experiments to evaluate and improve the performance of perception systems
- Stay up to date with the latest research in perception and robotics, and apply new techniques to improve system performance

Profile: Ideally ~
- PhD in Robotics or related field
- Experience in perception for robotics or related field
Competencies
Technical:
- Familiarity with control systems, sensors/LIDARs, and actuators.
- Experience with software development for robotic systems, including robot perception, navigation, and control.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and ROS/ROS2
- Experience with computer vision algorithms, machine learning techniques, and sensor fusion
- Experience with real-time processing of sensor data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
