In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and crafting functional specifications for systems and reports. Your expertise will help us precisely define systems scope and objectives through detailed research and understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
Education/Experience:
- Requires a 4-year degree in Computer Science or a related area.
- 2-4 years of experience in a software development environment, with at least 2 years directly involved in requirement gathering.
- Gather and write requirements and design specifications for large or moderately complex systems.
- Analyze issues with requirements and design.
- Define interaction of data with other systems/databases at Thermo Fisher or client companies.
- Collaborate with developers, QA testers, validation team members, and managers to build and analyze various project documentation.
- Provide mentorship to associate level Business System Analyst staff.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in related technologies and share knowledge with team members.
- Train on new technologies and tools related to job duties.
- Work on problems of moderate scope, applying company policies and procedures to resolve various issues.
- Build productive internal and external working relationships.
- Good understanding of the system development life cycle and requirements methodology.
- Proficiency in requirement gathering methodologies such as waterfall, Agile, Spiral, JAD sessions, and standard methodologies.
- Ability to write use cases and specifications for moderately complex systems.
- Good MS Office skills.
- Excellent business skills, including documentation, presentation, interpersonal, and communication.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Intermediate interaction with relational databases.
- Ability to collaborate with end-users to build test scenarios.
- Assess situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, and generate possible solutions.
- Highly organized, diligent, and able to accommodate shifting priorities.
- Must possess positive attitude, enthusiasm, and energy.
- Strong work ethic and comfort under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools for communication and document sharing.
- Dedication to professional development.
- Experience with 21 CFR part 11 and SDLC standard methodologies.
- Experience in healthcare and/or clinical research.
