Phasefocus Livecyte combines label free and fluorescence microscopy with versatile software for image analysis to harness the power of quantitative phase imaging and offer biologists a revolutionary new toolkit for gaining insights into cellular response and behavior. Based in Sheffield, UK, the company was originally a spin-out from Sheffield University. The successful applicant will join Phasefocus as a member of our commercial team, whose objective is to help ensure our current and potential customers obtain the best results possible and understand the full potential of our technology.

- Planning and running on-site demonstrations of how Phasefocus’s Livecyte cell analysis system can help solve researchers’ biological problems to both current and potential new customers
- Developing technical materials to support commercial activities (e.g. application notes, customer seminars, technical social media and other marketing content, and customer demo reports)
- Understanding, developing and educating Phasefocus’s customer-base by organizing and giving seminars at an international level
- Undertaking lead generation activities, such as account mapping and direct customer outreach
- Proactively demonstrating Phasefocus’s core values of a passion for science and depth of knowledge in every customer interaction
- Drawing on, and building, your professional network to establish and manage collaborative research in label free and single cell imaging
- Providing feedback from customers and on current community knowledge to Commercial and Product development teams to ensure that Phasefocus’s instruments are always cutting-edge
- Using your professional nature and scientific analysis skills to help resolve complex customer queries, which might involve getting into the lab, collaborative analysis and interpretation of customer results.
- Traveling and Meeting people will be a key part of your activities when building customer relationships
- D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics, with strong elements of experimental cell biology, cell culture and microscopy
- Practical experience of cell-based assays
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional presentation skills
- Strong working knowledge of current methods and trends in Cell Biology
- Willingness to travel, both in the UK and internationally, commonly ~50% of your time during busy periods
Desirable Qualities
- Strong technical leadership abilities that inspire others to follow you
- At least two years’ experience in a Field Applications Scientist role in a cell analysis instrumentation company, preferably with a microscopy element
- Experience of molecular biology
- A good understanding data analysis methodologies applicable to cell-based assays, including image analysis
- Ability to work collaboratively with Commercial and Product Development Teams
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to proactively prioritise in order to meet and respond to project deadlines
- A full driving licence and ability to travel around Europe without visa is highly desirable
