This job participates in the conduct and daily operations of biomedical research projects in collaboration with physicians, scientists, or other leaders. Works with supervision; assists in all aspects of research data or specimen collection, processing, and analysis; assists with making detailed observations, analyzing data (provides context for analyses), and interprets results; assists with preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses. Maintains familiarity with current scientific literature. Assists in investigating, creating, or developing new methods and technologies for project advancement. Assists in grant writing. Assists in preparation of research manuscripts, scientific reviews, abstracts, and posters for publication or presentation; and participates in scientific conferences, seminars, and training programs.

Education

Required – Bachelor’s degree sciences, computer science, data science, social sciences, mathematics, analytics, artificial intelligence, public health or related fields.

Work Experience

Preferred – 1 year of experience in biomedical research.

Job Duties

  • Facilitates research projects and initiatives.
  • Helps collect, record, and evaluate research data.
  • Recruits, consents, or interviews research participants.
  • Collects data directly from participants.
  • Pulls data from electronic health records.
  • Processes images.
  • Communicates with and presents plans/projects to team members.
  • Stays current with scientific and medical literature related to research projects.
  • Helps organize and publish research data in the form of abstracts, presentations and journal or book articles.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
