Description
We are looking for an experienced journalist to join our media editorial team to cover the clean energy transition and its impact on business.
The successful candidate will produce news and features on clean energy for GlobalData’s Energy Monitor website and oversee the day-to-day running of the site.
As the race for net zero intensifies, we’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about helping industries transition to a cleaner economy. If you’re passionate about the energy transition this may be the role for you. This is an ideal opportunity for reporters looking to develop their career in journalism and step up into overseeing a leading title.
The successful candidate will attend events and press briefings regularly and be prepared to cultivate lively and engaging discussions with readers through our social media channels.

Key Responsibilities
- Write news and features for Energy Monitor, reporting on the deals, trends and latest developments within clean energy and its impact on business.
- Conduct thorough research, including interviews with key industry figures by phone, video conferencing or face-to-face
- Upload and schedule stories through a content management system
- Attend virtual and in-person events and press conferences to pick up stories and build contacts in public relations, industry, government and academia
- Follow the lifespan of an article using social media streams to share stories and engage with readers

What We Look For
- Educated to degree level, media or journalism qualification essential
- At least one years’ experience in journalism, with a track record of published work
- Experience working with data to produce compelling stories is a plus.
- Sector knowledge/experience is desirable but not essential.
- Strong writing and research skills
- Experience in digital publishing, social media and SEO
