Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a focused and collaborative candidate to join our highly motivated Research and Development Team. Corteva is hiring a Global Regulatory Toxicologist to support seeds biotechnology and crop protection within our Regulatory Toxicology team. This position can be based in Indianapolis IN, Johnston IA, or remote, depending on candidate.

As a Global Regulatory Toxicologist at Corteva, you will be an integral part of a growing, multidisciplinary team that is responsible for development, registration, and re-registration of seeds products and integrated agricultural solutions.

Global Regulatory Toxicologist Role And Responsibilities

As a member of our Corteva Regulatory Toxicology team, you will operate as a Global Regulatory Toxicology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to:

  • Work collaboratively and across teams (regulatory toxicology, mammalian toxicology, predictive safety) to lead the development of scientific strategies and deliver global toxicology programs.
  • Responsible for the design and interpretation of toxicology studies for the Corteva biotech pipeline and crop protection active substances in support of global regulatory submissions while ensuring the highest standards of scientific practice and animal welfare are met.
  • Provide expertise and support for incorporation of robust study summaries and expert positions into the toxicology portion of the registration dossier and author technical responses and Weight of Evidence assessments to regulatory agencies.
  • Act as a regulatory toxicology liaison with registration colleagues and technical experts across a wide range of disciplines within the company and national or international regulatory authorities.
  • Participate and represent Corteva as a technical expert on industry associations and working groups.
  • additional opportunities for scientific growth within this collaborative, team-based role, include mentoring early career scientists, leading on cross-active ingredient projects, program management, innovative/alternative & mechanistic toxicity testing approaches, and communicating data to a wide variety of audiences.

Requirements

  • An advanced degree in toxicology or related area (Ph.D. preferred; candidates with M.Sc. and relevant experience will be considered).
  • Work experience with seeds biotechnology safety assessment is required.
  • Experience with crop protection safety assessment is a plus.
  • Salary and title are commensurate with experience.

  • Clear written and oral communication skills that allow dissemination of complex technical issues in a straightforward and concise manner, along with the ability to adapt this information to a variety of scientific and non-scientific audiences both internally and externally.
  • Keen interest in working in a dynamic, exciting industry and applying scientific information for protection of human health at highest standards.
