We have served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years and due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our site in Crumlin.

Role Overview

The role will lead R&D and Operational strategic programmes, acting as the first point of contact with some key customers and internal stakeholders with significant focus on BBI Board visible metrics. This role will manage and develop the relationship with the Customer and all stakeholders to enhance chances of success for the programme as well as for future long term business.

This role will also provide hands-on project management co-ordination, support and leadership for Recombinant R&D projects across multiple functions across all BBI sites and externally run projects. A key element for this role is ensuring sample availability on the market aligned with our NPD launch programme. These projects will support BBI’s recombinant strategic transformation.

The role will also report regularly to the Recombinant Project Steering Committee to provide essential updates and escalations to ensure the success of BBI’s strategic projects.

Role Requirements

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Program Leadership

  • Provide management and oversight of several programs and projects. Drive projects and all project team members to ensure project objectives and timelines are met, in accordance with plan, costs and required quality structure, providing support where required. Escalating issues when required.
  • Define project objectives, determine communication to internal resources and allocate tasks.
  • Ensure program adherence to legal and contractual obligations.
  • Facilitate and host in-person milestone meetings with Customers and Suppliers. Set up and manage internal and external meetings, virtual and in-person, ensuring critical information is logged and distributed and decisions are made on time to support the programme schedule.
  • Implement effective conflict resolution while managing programme priorities.
  • Manage program Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) payments upon completion of programme milestones and also Recurring Cost (RC) budgets.
  • Communicate delivery progress, challenges, and recommendations to external and internal stakeholders through clear, impactful reporting and storytelling direct to SLT and where appropriate build content for board.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and impediments while fostering a proactive, solution-focused culture.
  • Act as the main point of escalation and decision support for senior stakeholders and client leadership teams.

Project Management

  • Project Outsourcing Focus: Ensure external parties are aligned with project and regulatory compliance requirements (ISO:13485). Ensure all relevant legal documentation (contracts, agreements, NDAs) are in place in a timely manner. Initiate discussions and negotiations with external 3rd parties. Ensure external parties are approved suppliers and CAPEX approved to commence work.
  • Project Planning: Define and manage detailed project plans, identify dependencies, and establish an achievable timeline and risk mitigation strategy. Ensure external 3rd parties are aligned with timelines and escalate, when necessary, any slippage of timelines.
  • Project Documentation: Initiate and maintain all project documentation including project design plan, design inputs/design outputs, design history file, risk management, and detailed project timeline. Ensure external party has all the relevant documentation in place and when required.
  • Project Governance: Manage governance framework and documentation. Provide regular project status updates against project specifications (time, costs, quality) to line management and the wider Projects team. Manage phase gate approvals both internally and externally and ensure documentation is approved on BBI QMS.
  • Compliance: Ensure project compliance to BBI’s EHS, QMS and other relevant regulatory requirements
  • Resource Planning: Coordinate cross-functional team, ensure availability of required resources and skills throughout the project. to deliver the project as planned. Closely cooperate with the respective functional leaders
  • Communication: Excellent communication between external and internal stakeholders is required. Weekly updates on project status with internal cross-site stakeholders is expected.: Organise meetings for team updates for both external and internal stakeholders. Ensure minutes and actions are captured and shared with the relevant teams in a timely manner.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Adjust priorities quickly when adapting to business demands. Sharing information with stakeholders efficiently to allow quick decision making.
