About the role
- You will be working as part of an established team of flow cytometry specialists providing flow cytometric cell analysis as well as sorting services to our researchers.
- As an Advanced Research Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day operation and maintenance of flow cytometers.
- Training and supporting other members of staff/researchers in the use of the equipment.
- Providing technical support for the facility
- Carrying out essential quality control procedures and troubleshooting.
About you
- To excel in this role, you should have the following:
- BSc in Biological Sciences with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Practical experience working with cell analysers and sorters
- Practical experience with maintaining and troubleshooting flow cytometers
- Detailed knowledge of flow cytometry applications with a focus on technical expertise
- Long-term interest in instrumentation and biological sciences
- Experience with using flow cytometry data analysis software (eg. FCS Express, Flowjo etc.)
- Experience with training others in the use of flow cytometer
- A working knowledge of cytometric protocols or other laboratory techniques (immunology) with an emphasis on instrumentation
