What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure accurate billing for patients enrolled in clinical trials in compliance with federal regulations
- Create and maintain a central database for grants and clinical trials used throughout the health system
- Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, particularly CMS guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical research coordinators and business managers to improve billing and compliance processes
- Generate weekly reports for clinical research staff to identify and resolve customer service issues related to billing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary courses in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Four years of related experience in healthcare; a Bachelor's degree in a related field can substitute for the experience requirement
- Understanding of federal regulations pertaining to Medicare rules for billing clinical trials
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with healthcare systems (IDX, Siemens, DHIS) is beneficial
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in billing for clinical trials or similar healthcare settings
- Additional certifications in healthcare billing or coding
- Knowledge of clinical trial processes and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with data management and reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
