Job Description
This is a highly technical and leadership-focused role responsible for developing and driving world-class feedstock capabilities within Client.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop expertise:Identify gaps in Client's feedstock knowledge and competencies. Create a roadmap to close these gaps, potentially including proposals for new equipment and advanced characterization techniques.
Standardize testing:Implement robust and uniform Carbon Black Feedstock (CBFS) testing methods across the organization. Train personnel on these methods to ensure data quality.
Knowledge management:Build internal knowledge about CBFS and its impact on product quality and consistency. Develop a centralized database to correlate CBFS properties with process efficiency, stability, and product quality. Use this data to optimize CBFS specifications.
Supplier evaluation:Create a system for efficiently evaluating existing and new CBFS suppliers. This includes providing support to procurement and operations teams, conducting root-cause analysis for CBFS-related issues, and updating CBFS specifications as needed.
Cost optimization:Explore ways to utilize cheaper or lower-quality feedstock without sacrificing product quality or production efficiency. This may involve developing tools (physical or chemical treatments) to upgrade lower-grade feedstock.
Strategic planning:Designand execute a comprehensive feedstock roadmap to give Client a competitive edge. Generate new ideas and lead projects to develop CBFS for new products with demanding specifications and lower environmental footprints.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry) or Technology/Engineering (Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering and Technology/Oil Technology).
Master's degree in Science (Chemistry) or Technology/Engineering (Chemical Engineering/Petroleum Engineering and Technology/Oil Technology) or Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is preferred.
Experience:
8-10 years of relevant industry experience for Master's degree holders.
3-5 years of relevant industry experience for Ph.D. holders.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of petroleum products, oils, and related processes.
Strong understanding of Carbon Black Feedstock (CBFS) and carbon black production processes.
Data analytics and data digitization experience a plus.
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Who You Will Work With:
You will collaborate with various internal departments like Procurement, Process Technology, Operation, Quality Assurance, and RD.
You will also interact with external contacts to achieve your goals.
This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced scientist to lead the way in developing advanced feedstock capabilities for Client.
