Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Medical Value Writer with a proven track record in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions to join our dynamic and fast paced team. As part of our Value Communications team, you will be a crucial contributor to our clients' market access strategies, utilising your deep understanding of HTA processes and your exceptional medical writing skills. You’ll craft persuasive value dossiers and HTA submissions that emphasise commercial viability and support the successful market access of innovative healthcare products and therapies, all with the core intent of delighting our clients and bringing rebel thinking to life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • HTA Submission Expertise: Lead the development and writing of comprehensive value dossiers and HTA submissions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device products. Focus on ensuring commercial value is effectively communicated and emphasized in all submissions.
  • In-Depth Analysis: Conduct meticulous literature reviews (SLRs) and analysis of clinical, economic, and patient-reported outcomes data to bolster the product's value proposition. Align all analyses with HTA agency requirements while emphasizing commercial viability and market potential.
  • Project Leadership: Manage multiple HTA submission projects concurrently, overseeing project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) specialists, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Regulatory Affairs. Gather relevant data and insights for HTA submissions, always focusing on commercial considerations and strategic market access
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of global HTA agency guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Ensure that all submissions are not only compliant but also strategically aligned with commercial objectives.
  • Engagement and Communication: Act as a key point of contact for clients, key opinion leaders, and HTA agency representatives. Address inquiries, provide clarifications, and present compelling value propositions with a sharp commercial mindset.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks and edit HTA submissions to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to formatting and regulatory guidelines. Pay special attention to the clarity and effectiveness of commercial messaging.
  • Process Enhancement: Contribute actively to the ongoing development and refinement of internal processes, templates, and best practices. Continuously seek ways to enhance the efficiency and commercial focus of HTA submission development efforts.
  • Industry Leadership: Stay updated on the latest advancements in HTA methodologies, health economics, market access, and healthcare policy. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to clients, ensuring a strong commercial perspective in all recommendations.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a scientific, medical, or related field is required. An advanced degree (Master's, Ph.D., or Pharm.D.) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical writing, preferably in developing HTA submissions, market access dossiers, or value propositions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device products.
  • HTA Expertise: Familiarity with global HTA processes, including but not limited to NICE (UK), CADTH (Canada), HAS (France), IQWiG (Germany), AIFA (Italy), and PBAC (Australia). Exposure to HTA agencies is a plus.
  • Medical Writing Skills: Excellent medical writing and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex clinical and economic data into clear and concise language for various stakeholders, emphasising commercial value.
  • Analytical and Research Skills: Proficiency in conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and interpretation of clinical and health economic evidence, with a focus on commercial viability. Familiarity with health economics and outcomes research methodologies is beneficial.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control, with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and data gaps in documents.
  • Collaborative Approach: Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, effectively engage with stakeholders, and manage relationships with clients, while considering commercial implications.
  • Commercial Mindset: Demonstrate a value-based and commercial mindset, challenging conventional norms and thinking innovatively to develop unique and compelling strategies for HTA submissions. Embrace a proactive and solution-oriented approach to overcome market access barriers and differentiate our clients' products in the highly competitive healthcare landscape.

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (TEAMS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience working with reference management software and statistical analysis tools.
  • Strong English Proficiency: Possess exceptional fluency in English, both spoken and written, at a strong business-standard level. Communicate effectively and articulately in various professional contexts, demonstrating excellent grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. (Other languages beneficial but not a requirement.)
