WCFW Lab Assistant- Finance
Student Employment
Position Summary
The WCFW Lab Assistant supports all functions of the Westminster Center for Financial Wellness, a part of the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business. WCFW supports the broader Westminster University community in providing resources designed to improve financial outcomes for individuals, households, and businesses. While the resources of WCFW are available to all, focus is provided towards serving the needs of businesses and households led by low-income, female, minority and otherwise marginalized individuals.
Those working as WCFW Lab Assists will work on a range of projects as directed by the WCFW director and senior staff. WCFW projects include, but are not limited to, preparing the Utah Deal Flow Report, preparing and delivering the Business Certificate Series courses, working with area small businesses and households in support of improving their financial outcomes, providing personal financial counseling, and supporting Talk About Business, the annual BVGSB small business conference.
WCFW Lab Assistants work independently or on small teams, largely remotely, and are responsible to manage their own hours. Participation in regularly scheduled training sessions and "check-ins" with the WCFW director and senior staff are required.

Required Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Excel)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Experience in project management and/or assistance
- General knowledge of lab technology and data management
- General knowledge of business disciplines
- Professional, mature demeanor and dress required
- Recommended by a BVGSB faculty member
