Role Overview
Do you have experience writing and winning proposals for medical education and related content with a focus on diagnosis and treatment, across a range of therapy areas? Can you:
- Conduct a thorough needs assessment based on public and private information and input from therapeutic area experts?
- Detail clear and measurable learning objectives that will successfully assess the outcomes of the educational content?
- Structure the educational content in a variety of formats to ensure maximum
- Explain your vision of what the result should look like, so that medical writers, editors, project managers, and the rest of the team can create it to your (and the client’s) satisfaction?
- Interact with clients in a way that instils confidence, demonstrating your (and the company’s) medical and strategic expertise?
- Working closely with other Science Liaisons and the managing Head of Scientific Strategy, the rest of the Scientific Services and Client Services Teams, and the commercial and sales teams to understand rapidly changing business opportunities, develop winning proposals for new content on Medthority, and ensure that the content produced and published meets the requirements of accepted proposals.
- Background research into multiple therapeutic areas from of mix of public and proprietary data and information sources, identifying key knowledge and medical practice gaps and unmet needs, articulating learning objectives that address those needs, and structuring the resulting content to maximise the chance of a successful proposal and clearly brief medical writers on the type and format of the content to produce.
- Participating in client-facing meetings arranged by our commercial team, when new or renewed business is likely, to understand business priorities and medical issues, add ideas for meeting these needs, and demonstrate the scientific credibility of EPG Health.
- Briefing the Scientific Services and Client Services Teams for won proposals, so that they start off on the right track, are kept on schedule, and accomplish the objectives of the won business.
- Managing your own workload and output across multiple proposals, in collaboration with multiple commercial and sales teams.
- Identifying new opportunities and informing sales to follow up, staying up to date with developments in various therapeutic areas.
- Innovating along with the rest of the Scientific Services Team to increase the scope and value of content on Medthority.
- UK citizen or resident with right to work in the UK.
- BSc in biomedical science, advanced degrees – MSc, PhD, MD – a plus
- Experience in medical communications and/or medical/scientific writing, strategy, consulting, medical affairs or related work in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with grants and proposals a plus.
- Well-developed scientific communications skills with the ability to edit and adapt content utilising a variety of styles and outputs.
- Ability to pick up on new therapy areas quickly and to work across multiple projects
- Solid understanding of the drug development process and the relevant regulations that influence communicating with healthcare professionals and the public
- Ability to action received feedback and ensure high standards are consistently maintained through the content development process
- A desire to provide creative solutions to content challenges
- Strong project and time management skills
- A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to change, work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work
- Familiar/comfortable with SaaS workflow, communication and project management systems such as Atlassian, WorkflowMax, MS Teams (training provided.
