We are seeking a committed and passionate full-time Project Scientist to become an integral part of our dynamic team! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for executing environmental due diligence for commercial real estate ventures, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). We are seeking a committed and passionate full-time Project Scientist to become an integral part of our dynamic team! In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for executing environmental due diligence for commercial real estate ventures, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs). This position allows for the flexibility of remote work while necessitating a commitment to fieldwork and occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to diverse project sites (3-4 days per week) to collect information, including taking meticulous notes and photographs.
- Conduct interviews in person, through email, and via phone to gather pertinent data.
- Order and assess government database records, as well as execute regulatory agency file reviews.
- Examine historical data sources such as topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs.
- Prepare standardized reports based on the information compiled from various sources.
- Ensure that quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) align with management and client expectations.
- Complete requested revisions and submit reports within established deadlines.
- Undertake fieldwork to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, soil vapor) and/or indoor air.
- Compare analytical contaminant data against relevant regulatory standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to operate independently.
- Valid drivers license and the capability to perform fieldwork.
- Willingness to travel, with trips typically not exceeding 2-3 days.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Experience in executing Phase I Assessments and NEPA Assessments.
- Bachelors degree or higher in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Geography, or a related field.
