Job Purpose

  • The purpose of the role is to implement and enforce safe work practices throughout the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement and enforce safe work practices at S1, S14 & S19 Warehouse.
  • Ensure Audit observations (internal/external) are closed and complied in line with the policy. To follow the established procedures and policies of the company pertaining to EHSS.
  • To ensure the implementation of KAVACH standard in the assigned area of S1, S14 & S19.
  • To understand the implications of not following the defined procedures with respect to EHSS.
  • To ensure safe working environment for the employees.
  • To suggest best available technology related to the performance of EHSS.
  • To check whether all the legal requirements related to EHSS are met and take suitable actions.
  • Review of GMP documents.
  • To ensure smooth running of any audits (Internal & External) related to EHSS.
  • To ensure all the audit findings are closed within the stipulated time. Track the CAPA for compliance.
  • To check the projects taken under EHSS department.
  • To check and evaluate the effectiveness of action taken or proposed to is taken to prevent person injuries.
  • Coordinate and conduct all safety audits.
  • Facilitate all accident and incident investigation.
  • Actively participate in the activities carried out regarding the safety in the concerned area.
  • To check the legal compliance with respect to health and safety.
  • To impart Safety training and EHSS induction training programs.
  • To ensure proper maintenance of safety gadgets.
  • To investigate the cases of industrial diseases contacted and dangerous occurrence.
  • To organize campaigns, competitions, contest and other activities to develop and maintain the interest of the employees in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedure.
  • To coordinate with external trainer/safety consultants and conduct EHSS Trainings.
  • To implement, maintain and continually improve the Work Permit System.
  • To conduct Emergency Preparedness and Response Mock Drills.
  • To communicate the observation of the Mock Drills conducted to the Management and legal authorities.
  • To schedule the Safety Audits.
  • To communicate the audit findings to the Management.
  • To monitor the pest control activities.
  • Actively participate in the activities carried out regarding the safety in the concerned area.
  • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
  • Conduct Industrial Hygiene monitoring as per schedule and communicate the result to the Operation Unit and Enabling function.
  • Ensure compliance with EHSS management systems and follow up with concerned team.
  • Responsible for supporting for review of Job safety analysis and issuing authorization and monitoring of permit to work in the assigned area.
  • Responsible for supporting in implement, maintain and continually improve the Work Permit System & Contractor Safety Management.
  • Participating in the safety interactions & Safety walkthroughs.
  • Responsible for all EHSS activities on need basis.

Educational Qualification

  • BTech/MTech (Chemical) + Diploma in Industrial safety (or Equivalent Degree)

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Safe Systems of work (permit to work, risk assessment etc)
  • Compliance (regulatory and internal)
  • Knowledge on Environmental management
  • Incident/Accident management
  • Emergency management

Experience

  • Above 10+ years of relevant experience in EHSS
